Perfluoropolyethers, whose molecules consist of carbon, oxygen and fluorine atoms, are obtained in various ways: ionic polymerization of perfluorinated olefin oxide, photooxidative polymerization of perfluoroolefins, oxidative polymerization of perfluoroolefins in the presence of initiators. Our company has implemented a method of photooxidation of perfluoroolefins, in particular, hexafluoropropylene, with molecular oxygen at low temperatures. The oxidation products are oligomers of perfluoropolyetheracid fluorides, which are then converted into various derivatives of perfluoropolyetheracids (PFPEC) or treated with elemental fluorine to obtain neutral perfluoropolyethers (PEF). The closest foreign analogue of PEF is the Italian "Fomblin Y".
PEFs produced at our plant have unique properties.
- chemical inertness and chemical resistance;
- non-corrosion and oxidation resistance;
- low surface tension;
- low temperature coefficient of viscosity;
- low pour point;
- incombustibility and non-toxicity;
- high dielectric properties;
The unique properties of perfluoropolyethers and their derivatives make them very attractive to a wide range of consumers.
Perfluoropolyethers are used in various fields, such as aircraft industry, rocket science, vacuum technology for aggressive environments as lubricating and hydraulic compounds of materials.
